Apply is a free texture tool that allows you to customize any font you wish with an array of inky splatters and sprays. Copy your type layer and paste in place, then change the top layer to the Apply OpenType font to easily get the desired effect. Give this a try with any of our newest releases for some very interesting results.

Hey YWFT guys … just as a proof of concept, I have something similar in the works that I call ‘reverse grunge’. They are font files that you overlay to create distressed effects. These should be showing up at MyFonts soon, just waiting to finalize the various sets. Didn’t want you to think you were being copied. I’ve had this idea for several years at least but had to learn FontLab and OT.
