Over the past few weeks we have launched some really nice handsets into the store. Many new ideas and experiments in the latest collections.

trashbearsbearbearWhile I may not know or understand many things Japanese I do know that if you make a trash bag shaped like a bear I will be your fan for life. Thank you Japan!

calender09

Some very nice people at Miligram sent us a few nice gifts (such as this great 2009 calender and a small book from Alarm! Warszawa). Cheers, friends!

whimsyAny day that the UPS man comes with a YWFT package is a good day, especially if the book is David Weidman’s Whimsical Works. First, just go ahead and order it. Secondly, after it arrives and you want to scan in every page and make prints for your house like me - head over to Mr. Weidman’s site and order some prints or posters. Perfect OG folk styles for home and office. Thirdly, go get that Tapscott typeface and make some posters for your neighbors, you know you’ve been wanting it.

plukartMr. Plukart has quite a diverse assortment of various visual goods and oddities on his flickr stream although the illustrations are easily my favorite. Hello South America!

“A minimalist sculptor, Larry Bell first created shaped canvases and then turned to sculpture in the early 1960s. He was part of an avant-garde southern California group that included Robert Irwin and Craig Kauffman, and his primary materials were coated glass and plastics.”

large_wl_photo_karl-blossfeldt-040I have always been attracted to Italian Botanical Illustrations, and recently saw more of Karl Blossfeldt’s photography here and here. I really enjoy seeing people’s ‘collections’ and this would fall under art and collecting which is always a couple of steps up in my book. The backgrounds are also amazingly rich. I dare you to not to look at all of these!
