Wolff Olins recently updated their site with some lectures from their company. They also have a new flickr stream that would be good to follow.
Mr. Plukart has quite a diverse assortment of various visual goods and oddities on his flickr stream although the illustrations are easily my favorite. Hello South America!

“A minimalist sculptor, Larry Bell first created shaped canvases and then turned to sculpture in the early 1960s. He was part of an avant-garde southern California group that included Robert Irwin and Craig Kauffman, and his primary materials were coated glass and plastics.”

I have always been attracted to Italian Botanical Illustrations, and recently saw more of Karl Blossfeldt’s photography here and here. I really enjoy seeing people’s ‘collections’ and this would fall under art and collecting which is always a couple of steps up in my book. The backgrounds are also amazingly rich. I dare you to not to look at all of these!
Alejandro Paul from Sudtipos won a TDC2 award this year for his script typeface, Adios Script. Congratulations Alejandro and everyone else who won. Some great work in there!
Raphael Boguslav “works entirely on the Mac, continues to pursue a lifelong interest in classical piano and builds radio controlled model airplanes.”
He also has quite a hand for the pen.

We normally get a good amount of promo material around here from publishers and record labels and I do a horrible job of passing the “good cheer” along, but this will change, starting now. This week we got in a very nice package Stones Throw. The previous package they sent us was nothing-less-than-amazing, custom LP covers hand drawn and sprayed by Jeff Jank himself.
I am sure some of you web nerds out there have heard of Media Temple. If you haven’t, well they are a super nice web hosting company, the company that hosts YouWorkForThem. We have been using them for around 7+ years now, and they have taken good care of us with our nagging and requests.
Well yesterday when we were doing some system fixes, we had a small melt down with some local files. This then led to us having to nag MediaTemple for a backup of the code files. To our luck, Media Temple and team Ryan were there to save the day and provide us with a backup of our file from a few days ago. Now we learned our lesson our end, but it was great to know Media Temple had our back, because we all make mistakes sometimes.
So if your looking for a good service to put your website on, go with Media Temple. They might not be the cheapest, but they are the best product when you add up all good server tech, knowledge and 24 hour service. For a few bucks more, you will be happy you spent it, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for!
PS: They have been hard at work with a new venture called VIRB®
