Holy Micro-Structure Batman! Complex Matters works with, among many disciplines, designers (see Sean Hanna and Assa Ashuach) producing intricate and flexible material lattices. It will be interesting to see the how the relationship evolves between aesthetics and performance with such hyper-specificity.

Joseph Delappe is reenacting Gandhi’s 240 mile “Salt March to Dandiâ€? on a modified treadmill which powers his Gandhi avatar in “Second Life” as part of an installation at Eyebeam. Delappe will be completing his virtual/physical journey on April 5th. It is interesting to think of how other, ‘every day’, users of Second Life would participate with a Virtual Gandhi. Furthermore to think of the possibility of having something along the lines of a virtual NYC marathon! More screen-shots can be found here.

I have been following this topic on the internet lately and it shows what happens when a user by the name Daniel_K tried to fix the problem with his Creative sound card. Well, he got in trouble, but more in the likes of Creative bashing him online before contacting him. He explains his faults and what he shouldn’t have done (taking donations, a whopping $146 total). At the same time, he explains what Creative did with this product launch and driver updates, basically bringing an older model to its knees so you would have to buy a new model. Check out the article at WIRED. Another reason why YouWorkForThem has gone basically 95% Apple in the past year, no time for all these hardware upgrade issues! Too each his own!

“The ABRACADABRA bookmark aims to make finding where you left off and opening to that page easier. I didn’t know it was an issue but now I hate my ordinary paper bookmark. The ABRACADABRA contains an air-filled chamber, half of which is flattened by the weight of a book. Squeezing the exposed side inflates the concealed side lift the page just enough for your finger to slip in.” - Yanko Design
