Juan Pablo de Gregorio is a typographer and graphic designer whose work generally revolves around a particular concept. Founder of the Chile-based Letritas Foundry, Juan takes an interest in crafting designs that have not really been attempted before. Experimentation is key, and his willingness to try something new without fear and in spite of uncertainty is a bold characteristic that we could all use a little more of.
One of his latest releases is Molde, a massive family of 162 sans serif fonts. Yeah – you read that right: 162 fonts. Inspired by the Swiss Style of the mid 1900s, Molde frees itself from the weight of ornamentation, favoring neutrality and purity in its architecture. Clarity and legibility are the hallmark traits of its letterforms, making it well suited to headlines, editorials, publishing, product packaging, displays, presentations, corporate communications, letterhead, logos, and branding.
Molde offers six widths that include Compressed, Condensed, SemiCondensed, Regular, SemiExpanded, and Expanded, each available in three variations: Regular, right-leaning Italic, and the left-leaning Reverse. Each one of those is also available in nine weights that range from Thin to Black for incredibly extensive design versatility.
Multilingual support extends to Basic Latin, Western European, Euro, Catalan, Baltic, Turkish, Central European, Romanian, Pan African Latin, Dutch, Afrikaans, and Igbo Onwu for global accessibility.
