Brian Ritter is a skilled graphic designer with experience in logo design, visual merchandising, product packaging, print design, retail displays, signage, and illustration. Based in Florida, Brian releases design assets under his own studio label, Brian Ritter Design.
Brian’s work includes vector illustration collections, textures, portrait toolkits, and brush collections that provide graphic designers with tools that improve their workflow.
One of his most recent releases is Textures Variety Pack – Vol. 1, a series that features a variety of 36 realistic digital textures that are provided in four file formats to accommodate just about every type of graphic design program under the sun.
Textures Variety Pack – Vol. 1 offers a little bit of everything, including asphalt, corrosion, erosion, stones, stucco, rocky, and concrete textures for distressed urban grunge effects. Diagonal stitch, fabric, woven, and canvas offer a touch of fabric texture wherever they’re applied.
If you’re into dot patterns, Textures Variety Pack – Vol. 1 provides several tight dotted and spotted patterns in varied size and texture so designers can achieve the exact look they’re going for in their design projects. For a more painterly grunge effect, try adding texture with gouache, flecks, grain, sponge, or paint flicks.
Textures Variety Pack – Vol. 1 includes heavy and light grit textures, as well as clean and rough halftone textures that are fantastic for adding depth to digital illustration.
The entire collection can be used to add texture to just about any design project you can imagine, including logos, product packaging, merchandise, apparel designs, advertisements, motion graphics, website designs, marketing materials, posters, book covers, album artwork, digital collage, and even text designs.
It’s a snap to use these textures, too! Simply create a new layer for your texture, and make sure it’s above your artwork. All that’s left to do is experiment with opacity and blending modes to achieve your desired effect. For added versatility, you can change the oil color of .tif bitmap files to create even more visual effects.
Textures Variety Pack – Vol. 1 offers files in .ai, .eps, .tif, and transparent .png formats. The files are 300dpi at 3300×2550, making them ideal for both print and digital design projects. One important thing to note is that these are not seamless patterns.
