With a background in branding, UI design, and web design, Changki Han is a graphic designer and artist born and raised in Seoul. Although he works as a senior designer, he works on freelance and commissioned projects that include logo design, posters, illustration, and user interfaces.
Changki adores his field of work. “I simply love designing,” he explained. “I know that sounds cheesy, but to start with a blank page and to see the result after months of hard work is very satisfying to me, no matter if it’s a type family, a corporate design, a campaign or a website.”
Changki is a multidisciplinary creator, never focusing on just one single thing because he feels at home in many different areas of design — including typography. He releases his retail type designs under the Supply Of Fonts label.
One of his most recent releases through YouWorkForThem is Dol, a contemporary sans serif with a geometric architecture that favors the roundness of a pebble. In fact, that’s where this type family earned its name; “Dol” means “pebble” in Changki’s native Korean language.
Dol is a minimalist sans serif that provides incredible legibility, even in small point. This warm and friendly type family speaks with clarity and confidence, softening as it increases in weight. Dol works equally well in display and body text applications.
Available in a Regular and Condensed width, Dol is available in ExtraLight, Light, Regular, Medium, and Bold, with corresponding obliques for each. The range of styles and weights makes Dol beautifully suited to a variety of design projects that include displays and signage, advertising, headlines and editorials, print and digital publishing applications, logo designs, marketing materials, website designs, and mobile applications. It’s a strong contender for branding and identity projects that require fluid design cohesion across multiple media types.
Dol was designed with powerful OpenType features in mind, providing fractions, tabular figures, standard ligatures, and more. It extends multilingual support to Basic Latin, Western European, Euro, Catalan, Baltic, Turkish, Central European, Romanian, Vietnamese, Pan African Latin, Dutch, Afrikaans, Pinyin, Venda, and Igbo Onwu for incredibly far-reaching global accessibility.
Changki currently offers just two products through YouWorkForThem but we’re looking forward to seeing more of his work as time goes on. Visit his portfolio to take a look at the rest of his work and bookmark it so you can check back for new releases in the future!
