Description
BlancoNeg is a font with it's priorities reversed. Initially inspired by the lettering of Saul Bass, then some thoughts of Op-Art and a little bit of two P22 fonts (Balckout and Vienna Black). BlancoNeg has reversed the positive and negative spaces and each character relies on it's neighboring letters to help define it's own shape. Very casual with the look of cut out paper shapes. Individual characters by themselves do not look like letters. Typed in a line, the letters join together to form more recognizable words. This full character set font also has accents and punctuation that can be typed to make abstract borders and patterns that seem both primitive and modern.

Note: This font is spaced so all characters align to each other. If slight gaps appear between characters, select text and adjust tracking to -1 to pull the letters closer to each other.

Designer: Terry Wüdenbachs is a typographic designer and semi-professional snowboarder from the alpine country of Liechtenstein. Inspired by of many movements in art history (but primarily surrealism), Terry sees possibilities in incorporating references from the great masters, both classic and modern, into contemporary work. Catalan is Terry's first type design to be released to the public.
