While designing trademarks and logotypes, Gerald often designed unique lettering. It was a natural step to create entire alphabets from some of these designs. However, it was very difficult to have a font produced before the advent of the personal computer. With the arrival of the Macintosh and font creating software, the task became much easier. From earlier designs, Gerald created his first computer font in 1989. He continues to produce alphabetical, ornament, and specialty fonts as well as custom fonts for clients.
