Mottek means sledgehammer. The idea behind the font is to develop an expressive design language as if raw material had been processed with a sledgehammer on an anvil. Or with the flat hammer at the stonemason. Sharp edges paired with classic proportions result in an unmistakable yet legible font across all weights.
