Emil designed his first freeware fonts already in high school. He studied graphic design at the University of Art and Industrial design Helsinki. In 2007 Emil started as a freelance graphic designer and in 2011 he became a full time type designer.

Hanoded is run by Dutchman David Kerkhoff. His fonts are a mishmash of styles, as he just creates whatever pops into his head. You will find a lot of brush fonts in his collection, as his favourite tools are brushes and Chinese ink, with cartoon style fonts and script fonts complementing his repertoire. Aside from making fonts, David occasionally guides tours in far-flung places, renovates his '30's house and tries reasoning with his wife and (teenage) kids. Not an easy task!
