Glitch in The System is a curated collection of abstract images and design assets crafted exclusively for YouWorkForThem – which means you’ll only find them here!

One of our favorite Photoshop overlay collections from Glitch in The System is Bokeh & Light Leaks 05 – Photoshop Overlays. The term “bokeh” is a word you may have heard before, particularly if you don’t spend a lot of time working in or around photography. Bokeh refers to out-of-focus points of light in a photograph — blurred in the background or foreground. These points of light might be large or small, sparse or heavily congested, but their effects are nothing short of magical in the right setting.

Bokeh & Light Leaks 05 offers 22 high-resolution photographs of various bokeh effects and color schemes, intended to be applied in Photoshop as an overlay layer. While you can flip through different screen modes to experiment with the finished result, screen mode will mimic the texture and light of lens flare and bokeh film leaks with the most natural result. The benefit of using screen mode versus a plugin is that you remain in complete control of the transparency of the bokeh image, applying as much (or as little) of the effect you desire.

The images in Bokeh & Light Leaks 05 were taken using modified vintage lenses on modern, mirrorless, full-frame cameras to achieve different lighting effects. Sized at 6000x4000px, 300 dpi, this high-resolution collection works perfectly on images intended for both screen and print, including advertising, website designs, social media, mobile applications, book covers, album artwork, and digital collage. The images in Bokeh & Light Leaks 05 can also work well as abstract backgrounds and wallpapers.

Bokeh & Light Leaks 05 provides files in .tiff format, which work in all major image and document programs. They’re incredibly easy to use in Photoshop — open any image in the collection, copy and paste it as a new layer in your existing work, and adjust the screen mode and transparency.

Glitch in The System offers almost 550 design assets, including high-resolution photoshop overlays, abstract backgrounds, and textural elements that will add visual depth and interest to your designs and photographs. If you want to recreate film textures or lens effects from scratch, or simply use overlay layers to create light effects in your finished work, you’ll find plenty of amazing stuff in Glitch in The System’s portfolio.
