Adam Ladd has got it. “It” is the ultimate artistic intangible. You know it when you see it, hear it, feel it. It’s the mysterious creative singularity that gives an artist a “voice.” And although it’s not guaranteed, having it often begets results. Ladd is an example, as this Cincinnati, Ohio based designer boasts clients like Harley Davidson, Food Network, Disney, Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, iD Mobile, Costco, Hobby Lobby, L.L. Bean, Whole Foods, Minted, the Calgary Flames, Raising Cane’s, Blizzard Entertainment, Penguin Random House, Canva, and EatingWell…to name a few. Today we are featuring Ladd Design’s Lufga. Lufga is a geometric sans serif font family with a touch of distinction. Simple yet sophisticated, this typeface design presents a clean and modern appearance while carrying subtle retro tones. Most notably, the lowercase g and u make it recognizable for your branding applications, and there are also stylistic alternates when needed. The unique lowercase g is especially impressive. It almost magically conveys deferred gratification, a sense of wanting more, a curious need to seek out what’s on offer. It sticks in the brain, and that’s no accident.
