We love shining a spotlight on new designers with YouWorkForThem and we’re excited to announce the debut type design, Autoparts, from Andrew Lund.

Based in Los Angeles, Andrew is a graphic designer and creative director with a background in art direction, design, branding and identity, publishing, and interactive design. After working for design agencies and studios for more than a decade, Andrew went freelance in 2017 and operates his own studio, Lund Design Co.

Over the years, Andrew has worked with notable clients that include American Public Media, Xfinity, Red Bull, Subaru, and Gallo Winery, and his work has received recognition from the Webby Awards, The Effies, The FWAs, and The One Show, to name a few.

Andrew’s first type design released on YouWorkForThem is Autoparts, an all-caps sans serif display font that recalls vintage branding and painted signage seen around the city of Los Angeles.

In sunny, southern California, life moves a little faster — whether you’re cruising along the coast on the PCH with the wind in your hair or catching the Metro Rail into the city. Autoparts celebrates life in the fast lane, with sleek curves and a bold disposition that commands authority. This is a head-turning type design that gets noticed everywhere it goes. With a minimalist approach to its condensed architecture, Autoparts drives graphic designs forward with an urban edge and a subtle retro flair.

As a display font, Autoparts is a “hardworking sans serif” that conveys every message with confidence and clarity, working beautifully in designs for the automobile industry, travel, apparel, and film industries. It’s ideal for signage and displays, logos, product packaging, merchandise, apparel designs, advertising, marketing materials, posters, book covers, album artwork, titling and film projects, website designs, headlines, travel postcards, and mobile applications.

Offering fractions and multilingual support for Basic Latin, Western European, Euro, Catalan, Baltic, Turkish, Central European, Romanian, Pan African Latin, and Dutch for designs intended for a global audience.

Andrew Lund is new to YouWorkForThem but given his first type design, we’re really looking forward to seeing more of his work in the future. Visit his portfolio and bookmark it so you can check back for new releases in the future — you won’t want to miss them!
