Eingrantch Mono: A Monospaced Neogrotesk From Harmnessless Type
“A home for underdogs,” Harmnessless Type is an independent studio and foundry based in Bandung, Indonesia. Established by Akbar Ar-rohman, Harmnessless Type crafts contemporary and technologically-driven type concepts for an international design marketplace.
One of the foundry’s most recent releases is Eingrantch Mono, a monospaced neogrotesk type family that was inspired by the characters from an old Continental typewriter. Akbar used that initial idea to conceptualize an updated and digital sans serif version of that classical style. The result is a modern sans serif with a clean and straightforward architecture that’s perfect for contemporary graphic design projects.
Eingrantch Mono offers great legibility, even in small point, making it a great choice for programming and mobile applications. Its particularly well suited for design projects in the themes of technology, mathematics, communication, and science.
This type family offers seven weights in total: Thin, Light, Regular, Medium, Semi Bold, Bold, and Black. Eingrantch Mono is great for logo designs, advertising, headlines, editorial designs, product packaging, marketing materials, infographics, presentations, publishing applications, website designs, titling, gaming, and mobile applications. Its range of weights makes it a perfect option for branding and identity projects that require design cohesion across multiple media types.
Eingrantch Mono offers plenty of additional versatility through OpenType, including case sensitive forms, fractions, discretionary ligatures, standard ligatures, ordinals, slashed zero, oldstyle figures, tabular figures, and stylistic alternates. It extends multilingual support to Basic Latin, Western European, Euro, Catalan, Baltic, Turkish, Central European, Romanian, Pan African Latin, and Afrikaans for graphic design projects intended for a worldwide audience.
