Based in Bandung, Indonesia, Sandi Dez (D. Sandi Sjahputra) is a multidisciplinary designer with experience in graphic and interface design, branding and corporate identity, advertising, illustration, and typography. With more than a decade of experience in the creative industry, he is exceptionally skilled in all things relating to effective visual communication.
Sandi Dez releases fonts through Zeune Type Foundry, a division of Creative Zeune — a small design studio that focuses on graphic, type, and interface designs in the city he calls home. Through his studio, he provides stellar design work to companies around the world.
A self-proclaimed “typeface lover,” Sandi adores creating character sets that graphic designers can use in their own projects. He released his first typeface, Wallington Pro, in 2014, and has consistently released new type designs through Zeune Type Foundry and his vintage-centric label, Winston Type Company.
When it comes to type design, Sandi is particularly drawn to the historical aspects of his craft, particularly Ephemera, Spencerian script, and decorative art from the Victorian Era. Many of his designs feature ornate calligraphic detailing, and while one of his most recent releases through YouWorkForThem departs from that style, it carries a subtle vintage flair throughout.
