Here you are again, trying to select a birthday gift for those two difficult girls, those twin cousins of yours that make you uneasy for some reason—especially when you visit that remote hotel they live in, and see them standing at the end of a hallway holding hands asking you to come play with them. Geez, they’re tough to buy for. Last year they didn’t touch that dollhouse you picked out, instead spending the evening toying with the Zwilling kitchen knives you got their father as a housewarming gift. Your unease wasn’t helped much when you said goodbye, and one of them held out the largest knife and said, “Zwilling means twin in German.” You said, “Um, interesting, I wasn’t aware of that,” and bade swift retreat to your car.
So this year you’re thinking out of the box. It was an odd choice, but it felt right: a used Aktiv Snow-Trac ST4 treaded snow vehicle. “Should get you upwards of 1 mile a gallon if you use the cruise control,” joked the salesman. You didn’t hear, as you were on to the next issue: finding the perfect card. But the “Double Trouble” cards at your local drug store featuring two bunnies don’t quite work. The salesperson—a bent old man with two glass eyes made of polished obsidian—recommends you visit the town’s old font store and make your own card. Somehow you’re not surprised when he tells it’s “just down the way a spell.”
Nor are you surprised when you arrive, and the same old man is working there, too. Or when he leads you to a back room saying, “Walk this way.” Or by the fact that he leads you around seamlessly despite having two glass eyes made of polished obsidian. Or that you’re standing in a font store. He pulls back the curtain, revealing a wall covered in fonts. “This is where we keep the NC17 ones,” he says.
But you don’t need to peruse, because there it is: the Melting SVG Font, exactly what you’d had in mind. This classic creepy font, oozing the frightening fluid of your choice, is perfect for anything that says horror, Halloween, or hell. The two brothers that are Handmadefont are responsible for Melting SVG, along with over 1000 other unique fonts. The writers have not yet ascertained whether they are twins, but what we do know is they exclusively offer one-of-a-kind products, as each is indeed handmade. They put a little of themselves into every font, like their Egg Font that took “3 hours and 5 burnt fingers.” Consider the Melting SVG Font for your next horror film title, terrifying novel, alarming headline, scary card, graphic novel, or comic book.
This is a colour OpenType file for apps compatible with color bitmap fonts. Opentype-SVG fonts require Photoshop CC 2017, Illustrator CC 2018, or Procreate 4.3 (or newer). Now that OpenType-SVG is an industry standard, it’s likely you can use color fonts with all your favorite software/hardware (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, QuarkXPress, Keynote, PowerPoint, Word etc.)
Additionally, all characters come as individual .png files which can be opened in any graphics software. Each letter appears on a transparent background with a high resolution size of 2000x2000px. This downloadable package contains 50 files. Includes uppercase characters, numerals and basic punctuation. (Draw height roughly 800 pixels).
Due to the large nature of OpenType-SVG fonts, extended punctuation and language support are not included. However all punctuation characters and the certain accents are included as individual image files in the .png letter set, which can be manually added to your text.
And oh yeah—the twins loved your gift. On the drive home you don’t even hear your significant other’s quite reasonable critique of you spending your life savings on a used Snow Trac. You mysteriously respond, “It’s okay. I saw it on the television.” “That doesn’t even make sense,” they respond. “And anyway, that font could be used for lots of other things, like books on global warming, social anxiety, romance novels, books about caves, a market meltdown, saunas, candle making, fondue, ice cream and butter, public trust, how I feel about you buying that truck…not just birthday cards for Alexie and Alexa.”
Indeed, Melting SVG is the choice for all of the above and for all of your other melting-letter needs.
