Konstantine Studio was founded by Ian Irwan Wismoyo and Abdilah in Jakarta, Indonesia. They first established themselves as a graphic design team in 2012, working directly for clients on a project-by-project basis.
Eventually, though, Ian and Abdilah began to feel “stuck” in their work environment. Most of us can relate to the daily struggle of working for “the man,” and feeling completely out of control of our own dreams and aspirations in the process. That’s sort of what happened to Ian and Abdilah; one day, a reckoning came along and they realized that what they truly wanted for themselves was to obtain their complete independence, and to create only the things that they wanted to create.
In 2014, they made the decision to put a hold on all of their client-based work to fully embrace their passion for type design and lettering. They’ve gone full-throttle with Konstantine Studio and haven’t looked back since. Much of their work has a vintage, decades-aged aesthetic, one that appeals to an especially far-reaching audience given society’s love of retro design elements.
One of their latest releases on YouWorkForThem is Husky Giggle, a pair of handwritten script fonts. Crafted using a brush pen and ink, Husky Giggle features bold lettering written in a classic hand. It’s casual and fresh, with a style that integrates effortlessly into projects inspired by eras both new and old.
