A Beautifully Crafted Sans Serif From Yinon Ezra: YE Paradigma - 1

Yinon Ezra is a graphic designer and typographer who grew up in a very art-centric household near Tel Aviv, Israel. The son of a business consultant and gifted painter, Yinon spent a considerable amount of time in his mother’s art studio, a space for creating and a place that felt like the heart of his home. For Yinon, making art was a common activity and an established part of his daily routine – one that has been present in his life since before he can even remember.

His love of art may have served as the basis for all of his further creative pursuits, but it was his brother’s work in the field of type design that eventually steered Yinon in that direction one decade ago. His older brother, Nadav, runs the largest type foundry in the country and has spent nearly 30 years honing his craft in the field. Once Yinon discovered his own passion for type design, there was no looking back.

Yinon really enjoys exploring typography and visual communication in general, two creative outlets that are as beautiful as they are complex. When it comes to type design, Yinon puts his own spin on it through the intermingling of Hebrew design with the structured geometric architectures of Latin type.

Yinon has also spent time educating others in the design process of Hebrew fonts, including running workshops on the topic for Glyphs, because he is so passionate about them. Over the years, he has crafted a number of Hebrew fonts and Latin fonts, endeavors that allow him to enjoy the best of both design styles.

One of his more recent Latin releases is YE Paradigma, a beautifully crafted sans serif type design that conveys a message with clarity and style. While many sans serifs are casual and somewhat “plain” in their simplicity, the carefully carved detailing of YE Paradigma lends an element of sophistication and panache to its architecture. It’s not your typical and “basic” sans serif in terms of structure, although it retains the high legibility that’s become associated with them.

Available in Normal and Condensed styles, YE Paradigma offers six weights that include Thin, ExtraLight, Light, Regular, Bold, and Black, with corresponding italics for each for a total of 24 fonts. The range of styles and weights makes YE Paradigma well suited to headlines, editorials, body copy, website designs, corporate communications, presentations, infographics, white papers, publishing, titling, and mobile applications. It’s also well suited for identity and branding projects that need design cohesion across multiple media outputs.

YE Paradigma extends multilingual support to Basic Latin, Western European, Euro, and Pan African Latin for great language accessibility.
