Jim LePage is a graphic designer and artist whose talents built the foundation for Chroma Supply, an online resource for graphic design assets with an emphasis on the wild and wonderful world of abstract art.
Jim didn’t start out anywhere near the graphic design field. The former preschool teacher spent several years working with young children, eventually feeling restless and in search of something more. Even though he never really had a specific calling toward art, his wife suggested he go back to school and he chose graphic design. “I was not that kid who was always drawing,” Jim said. “Other than playing in a couple bands, I didn’t have much experience creating art.”
Sometimes we’re pulled toward something and at the time, we don’t fully understand why. Making a wide leap from education to graphic design, particularly for someone who didn’t really have much of a background in art, seemed to make little sense but it led Jim to exactly where he needed to be.
After spending some time working in graphic design, a field that’s largely driven by the client’s needs and specifications, Jim started to explore abstract art as a creative outlet for himself – one that gave him complete control. He found not only joy in this new creative avenue, but he discovered that there was a need for abstract design assets for the graphic design world. Some of his work has been used for album artwork in the music industry and through Chroma Supply, Jim is able to pursue his passion while giving graphic designers some amazing products to incorporate into their own projects.
