Cooking With Paula Deen Magazine Licenses Fonts From Yellow Design Studio - 1

Based in Savannah, Georgia, celebrity chef Paula Deen has built a career around homestyle southern food. She launched Cooking With Paula Deen in 2005, a lifestyle magazine that “shares her secrets for transforming ordinary meals into memorable occasions.”

Cooking With Paula Deen offers recipes, menu plans, ideas for table settings, and even decor inspiration, all centered around the comfort and beauty of home.

The magazine needed type designs that would capture the brand well. For its purposes, Thirsty Script, Eveleth, and Veneer – all from Yellow Design Studio – were chosen to grace the pages of Cooking With Paula Deen.

Thirsty Script is a “new retro” cursive script that blends contemporary architecture with vintage design elements, bringing a fresh take to a classic style. Reminiscent of signage on a neighborhood eatery in the south, Thirsty Script is ideal for food and beverage related designs.

Veneer and Eveleth are both uppercase letterpress type designs with a distressed texture that imparts a sense of antiquity and tradition, of familiarity and permanence. They’re exactly like the lettering you’d find on a century-old advertisement painted along the side of a barn in the rural south, featuring bold architecture weathered by the elements and by time.

When Cooking With Paula Deen sought to license Thirsty Script, Veneer, and Eveleth, YouWorkForThem ensured their licensing would cover exactly what they needed.
