The Prolific Work of PintassilgoPrints - 1

PintassilgoPrints (pin-tas-sil-go-prints) is an experienced, independent type foundry founded in the seaside city of Vitória, Brazil, an epicenter of the Brazilian typography scene. Currently located in Florianópolis, Brazil, PintassilgoPrints has been run by the prolific couple Erica Jung and Ricardo Marcin for the better part of a decade, but the pair has been engaged in print-related activities for nearly a quarter century.

True artists, Jung and Marcin pull from a variety of sources when planning their next font, noting in a 2011 interview that they are “dedicated users of public archives and libraries” for discovering inspirational source materials. This creative practice has led them to produce not only a large quantity of font types, but also fonts of incredible qualitative distinction. One need only look at the photos of their fonts in use to see how expressive their fonts are when paired with different products and prints.

Some of their fonts are descriptively named, such as Marker Aid which evokes Sharpie block lettering, or Card-O-Mat which captures the essence of the “greeting card” style, showing off the foundry’s mastery of emulation. Others, however, have more playful names which are paired with evocative styles; Marujo’s interesting lines and playful polka-dots, and Transmogrifier’s doodle-style curls and quirky fills are just two examples of such play.

With such diverse styles and aesthetic mastery, PintassilgoPrints undoubtedly has a font that will fit your needs.
